500: internal error with Authorize.net final checkout

Merlinpa1969:

We use phpsuexec on several servers and cURL works just fine,

make sure that when they recompile php using phpsuexec that they include cURL in the compile

... and SSL too ...

Re: 500: internal error with Authorize.net final checkout

They claim to have recompiled using CURL and SSL.. Still getting the internal server 500 error. And still no error logs in the cache folder

I'm at wit's end on this.

(Note: As of 2007 I've moved all my ecommerce development to Drupal/Ubercart.)

I'm at wit's end on this. There's nothing "you" can do about it from a technical or coding angle.
It's a server configuration problem.

Your options are: (a) wait for your host to sort it out, or (b) get them to put you on another server, or (c) goto another host who "can" do it.

You'll have a similar issue if you use other payment modules that require CURL and SSL ... so ... it's rather critical to ensure that it does work, and not worth trying to switch CC processors just to try something else ... because if the server config is busted, it's busted until it's fixed.

Well.. I believe I have root access to the site (it's a dedicated server account). If you have any suggestions for recompiling PHP, or otherwise configuring the server, I'll try anything.

Using cPanel, but as it's a dedicated account I have root access through SSH as well

... (which is at the root of the zen cart install and chmod 777..)
Still getting the 500 internal server error.....

I am rather new to the whole suexec idea, and I know this is an old thread, but I think the above quote is the core problem in this thread. Because PHP is using suexec, the folder should be 755 instead of 777.
