Apple Zen Support Thread

http://www.doodlebuckets.com/ Can you tell me how to better center the table I just added to my front page? I just need to balance the white space on the left and move the table away from the sideboxes a bit. I really don't want to have to resize all my pics and table!

You can add this to your css:

#indexHomeBody .centerColumn {margin-left:1%}
#indexHomeBody #navColumnTwo {margin-left:2%;}

Zesty:

thanks for helping!

https://www.ebtech.org/store

Try removing this from your stylesheet_header_menu.css:

/* Hides from IE5-mac \*/
height: 1%;
/* End hide from IE5-mac */

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

This has to be a simple fix Im overlooking but if you take a look at my store.
http://www.fishscraps.com
You will notice the background graphic was changed (black swirls) and I also had to change the size from 9em since my store header is larger, which affects how far down the background goes. The problem is now for some reason the header background image (which I changed to solid white from the diag stripes) does not show instead the side background image shows under the header menu links.

I noticed if I change the size of the (side) background from 9em to anything over 20 it does not show properly in IE, (a gap appears below the header, then the background displays) so 19 seems to work ok with both Firefox and IE and I did have this value working with the header image background at one time.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Scott.

If you are talking about removing the gap between the header and the main content of the site, simply remove this from tpl_header.php, as explained in the readme:

<div id="centerColumnOuter"></div>

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

I did not want to remove it, I'd rather have the modified header image show up (overtop the other like it does when the other is set to the default 9em) Somehow the size of the side background image affects the header background, that or the logo section is messing it up as I did get rid of force size code so it can display in its true size. I'll post the code later tonight if I cant figure it out after taking another crack at it.

Thanks so much!

Scott.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hello Jettrue!!

I have an issue that I can't seen to figure out. We have had our store up for 2 days, and have had around 100 dl's. out of about 100, 3 or 4 have had issues with dl page being messed up. At first I thought it was a browser issue, but most of the people on our site use firefox including the 3or 4 that have had the problem. this is the screen shot.

Any ideas? This is the link to the store

Thanks for your time,

Jack

Is the image you want there supposed to be a solid white image? Perhaps there was an issue when you saved it?

The 9em should only affect the scroll image, it is not there to mess up the small background.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

cache529:

Hello Jade,

I just encountered an issue I can't figure out. I enabled banners (header 3 position) on the main page only. I added: "float:left;" (so that the banner is only in the center column) in the following section:

#bannerOne, #bannerTwo, #bannerThree, #bannerFour, #bannerFive, #bannerSix {
float:left;
padding:1.2em;
}

Anyway, there is a gap above the sideboxes same height as the banner. I messed around with the following area:

#navColumnTwo, #navColumnOne {
float:left;
position:relative;
width:20%;
padding-bottom:20px;
}

I added padding-top:0px!important; vertical-align:top; but nothing seemed to work. Also, this only occurs on the main page. Do you have any idea? thx

Done some searching.........any resolution on getting this to center in the main column and not across both the main and right sidebox?

Plus it forces the right boxes down.........any way to fix that?

Check out my example: http://www.flagshipmodels.com

The banner three is set to go right beneath the breadcrumb links, all the way accross. Moving it so it is within the center content will be difficult, since the center content is different for each link you click. SO, if you only want it on the home page, I can give you one set of instructions. If you want it on ALL pages, then add a negative margin for #navColumnTwo, like this:

#navColumnTwo {margin-top:-65px}

You'll have to play with the number till its just right.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

hi,
I hope my question is not answered already.
I try to hide some categories with the hide-categories-mod.
Which file(s) should be modified to hide them also in the apple-zen dropdownmenu-listing?
thanks in advance, anna

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

I looked through the posts and didn't see anything about Firefox and Chrome browsers so I hope I am not asking something that has already been answered. Everything looks fine when I look at my site, but on the Zen Cart Review thread, someone took these screenshots from Firefox 3 and Chrome browswers:
http://www.zen-fu.com/zc/pic1.jpg
http://www.zen-fu.com/zc/pic2.jpg

These are from www.doodlebuckets.com Can you tell me how I can fix this? And maybe why others are seeing this but I am not seeing it using the same browsers? Thanks!

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

hi, jadetrue

firstly, thank you for developing such a nice template and i really love it!:smile:

my problem is:
when i copy and paste the content inside your 'additions to .htaccess' file to .htaccess and save it under my site root: store/
i can't access admin area of my testing site, it reported a 'Server error! 500'

below attached the real content of my .htaccess file

Add these to your .htaccess file so that only one way to your site exists, either http://yoursite.com and http://www.yoursite.com ... the following adds the www if it's missing:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L]

If you'd like your site to go to http://mysite.com instead of http://www.mysite.com, add these changes instead:

##RewriteEngine On
##RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.yoursite.com$ [NC]
##RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://yoursite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

the following makes sure the correct mime type is sent for the .htc file

AddType text/x-component .htc

when i remove the .htaccess file, all are OK again.

why and how can i do to deal such situation?

thanks for your help in advance
David

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Amy,

Try this....

in stylesheet_lightbox.css change your z-index about line 11 for #lightbox to 1000 instead of 100 and see if that makes it better.

I think you need to make your home page image section smaller.

That next issue is part of the lightbox mod, I'd ask them, as I have no idea.
