I cannot upload any images to the server

I am running Zencart on a Linux server, and the images directory (as well as the /images/uploads directory) are set to 777. When I attempt to upload a picture for either a category or a product, the next screen says 'no image' or a picture of a broken image link. I check the server then and no image has been uploaded to the directory. What do I do about this? I have tried a complete reinstall and also renaming all .htaccess files.

I'm desperate for help!

Re: I cannot upload any images to the server

Are you trying this from admin, ftp or what?

Check your configuration files and make sure they match.

I just had a problem with images - and the config files and paths were wrong!

Re: I cannot upload any images to the server

I'm trying it from admin... what do you mean by configuration files? I'm very new to all of this. I'll have a look through configuration.php in the mean time and see if anything is bleedingly obvious. Thanks!

Do you see the image after you click "preview"?

At the very top of the page do you get a message "Image successfully uploaded"?

Compare the configuration.php in your includes and in your admin includes. They should read the same.

Just to clarify ...
Those files are actually named "configure.php", not "configuration.php".
While MUCH of their content is similar, those files do NOT read exactly the same.

ie: if there were no upload problems detected, you should have seen something like this:
PHP Upload Support = ON upload_max_filesize=32M; post_max_size=32M
PHP Upload TMP dir = \tmp

If there were problems detected, such as the upload TMP dir not being writable, or perhaps the PHP upload services disabled, they should have been reported to you so you could deal with your hosting company about those matters.

Did you install Zen Cart yourself, or did you use an automated installer like fantastico provided by your hosting company?

Doctor!

My bad! I was not clear on that was I?

Thanks for correcting this error (I knew what files and which line items within the files to be looking at - just didn't communicate that!).

I'll be more careful in the future.

Thanks again!
