Where? Do product image files get stored? My multiple size images aren't working

Hello Folks,
I have read many threads on the handling of product images! I am still unsure of the path they go or where to put them? _MED _LGR and where do the small ones go? Also I have changed many of the sizes in the admin/config/images and the only pic I seem to be able to adjust is the "new products" in the side box! Any sugestions would be helpful! https://www.petesboots.com

OK... you upload the "small" image when adding the product. DON'T ADD A SUFFIX TO THE SMALL IMAGE. Just name it "name_of_image.jpg". The small image ends up in the images/ folder. You upload the medium image in images/medium/ with the suffix of _MED. You upload the large image in images/large with the suffix _LRG. So your images would look like this:

images/name_of_image.jpg (this image is uploaded when adding the product)
images/medium/name_of_image_MED.jpg
images/large/name_of_image_LRG.jpg

The medium and large images have to be named EXACTLY the same, but with _MED.jpg and _LRG.jpg at the end (and capitalization counts).

As far as image sizes go... tell me what you're trying to change.

Re: Where? Do product image files get stored? My multiple size images aren't working

I am trying to get the one image that I have in the products area to be bigger!! like 150 by 200. And the when some one clicks on the "click for larger image" I want that to increase in size. And that can be site wide. I only put one up there to kind of get a template started. But I have changed the admin/config/image settings several times and the only image that changes size is the "new products" image on the side row? Which that one I do not want to change? I do not have any of the "tpl etc" files changes or in the custom folder so I don't understand why my image will not change sizes

That would be the "large" images.

Using your single product's current image:

The main/thumbnail image:
/images/SQC1852%20sm.jpg

The medium image:
/images/medium/SQC1852%20sm_MED.jpg

The large images:
/images/large/SQC1852%20sm_LRG.jpg

You could have additional images for thumbnail and large, simply by naming them with a suffix, perhaps:
/images/SQC1852%20sm01.jpg
/images/SQC1852%20sm02.jpg
/images/SQC1852%20sm03.jpg
/images/large/SQC1852%20sm01_LRG.jpg
/images/large/SQC1852%20sm02_LRG.jpg
/images/large/SQC1852%20sm03_LRG.jpg
