Zen Branding and logos..

Hi everyone,

I am new to this whole Zen process, I have it all loaded on my server and have purchased a template which is now working..

However, I was wondering if there was a way that I could remove any of the Zen branding that is on the page, all links, banners, popups, and information linking to the Zen website..

I dont know if I am allowed or if you guys look down on that sort of action, but if it is allowed, how do I go about removing all the logos and information so it is just my ecommerce website being viewed?

Any help would be great thanks.

Jason

Banners can be turned off in the admin. The links in the footer have to be edited out in your custom template. If you remove the Zen Cart references, your site can't be in the Zen Cart Showcase.

Re: Zen Branding and logos..

I was able to turn them off through the admin control panel, however; I have no idea how to change this:

Copyright © 2007 Zen Cart. Powered by Zen Cart | Privacy Notice

Which appears at the bottom of the page to be my company information instead of Zen..

Here's a good tip to find any text you're looking for.

Go to your admin, go to "Tools", then "Developers Tool Kit"

I always go down to the last input box, which is "Search all files".

Enter in "Powered by"... choose "Catalog" from the drop down menu, then click search.

It will tell you right where to find it. Incidentally, it is in includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php

It wold be a nice thing to leave the Powered by on your site.

change the copyright but leave powered by ZC since it is their engine thats allowing you to operate

Re: Zen Branding and logos..

Thats perfect thank you very much, the help here is just great,

I have walked into another problem though, as I input more categories for products, the inputs ie "motherboards" creates a new section it appears on my website with a gray background, something that I didnt want to happen, so now it says motherboards on the left in categories, and on the top:

http://starlinepc.com/catalog/

im not sure why that would happen, nor do I know how to change it.

Does anyone have any ideas? or is it because i chmod'ed a file 777 which I shouldnt have, so instead it is actually being placed twice?

Those are the categories-tabs options. If you want to turn them off, goto Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Show Category Tabs ... false

starline-

A very worthwhile investment at this stage would be the e-Start Your Web Store book - Has almost 400 pages of the best information.

Re: Zen Branding and logos..

I'll order that today, thanks for the advice,

See I don't know if it is this template causing me all this trouble, but when I activate my shopping cart to appear on the left hand side, it wont appear, but if I switch templates then it does show... Why would that happen?

Re: Zen Branding and logos..

You have a Template Monster template. Search the forum for them to understand what is happening.

Again, this is likely a bug in the TM template you are using, since they have a history of hacking out functionality that they don't understand or don't think suits the template design as they conceptualized it.
