The cPanel SSL manager(mod_ssl) is known to be glitchy....or not work

Can you have your host install this?

I was refering to your private COMODO Cert being install by your host and not a shared cert

Re: SSL certificate install in cpanel

Then I do not know why you referred to a "Shared Cert"???

Your Host should be able to easily install this COMODO Certificate for you.

Reply back to them and ask how,** exactly**, to do it, or ask for the link to a help file about it. You have to stand up for yourself with hosting companies sometimes, or they will treat you like spit. Make it clear to them that your account with them is at stake...

I found this, perhaps you can use it..
http://www.digicert.com/ssl-certificate-installation-apache-cpanel.htm

an i got this from godaddy:

http://help.godaddy.com/article.php?article_id=1255&topic_id=276&isc=lol62

the last section pertains to setting up cert in cpanel.... who is your host company?

Re: SSL certificate install in cpanel

If they have the SSL mod available in c-panel ( we dont cause it sux )
then you need to hit that and you will see where to paste the CRT and the Ca- bundle,

then hit go

this will be in the same place that you created the CSR for comodo

Re: SSL certificate install in cpanel

Ok I got the shared certificate to work but the only way was to change the admin/includes/configure.php /includes/configure.php

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://my.domin);
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://prime.host-care.com/~subdomain);

so wen I click on log in it takes me to
https://prime.host-care.com/~subdomain/index.php?main_page=login&zenid=678a4a22414b2e05d1056be45a355d2b

is there anyway of getting this pointed back to my domian instead of the prime-cost-care.com

Re: SSL certificate install in cpanel

well, it seems you are running into a problem of having NOT paid the hosting company for THEIR certificate upon which they gain profit, combined with the reluctance on their part to support properly the comodo certificate beacuse, again, you do not pay them enough to want to bother with it.

Do you have root access to the server named in the url you posted? If so it is easy. If the hosting company has root access, and won't give it to you, then no, you can't change it yourself, you will have to convince them to do it for you...

Re: SSL certificate install in cpanel

nah, the server itself. the hosting company will be in control of it unless you have a dedicated server (or some similar setup) there. It seems that the cpanel should offer you a way to do it, perhaps... but i think they just need to go in and rewrite the url it is pointing at. What is the hosting service telling you? that you did it wrong, or that they won't support the comodo certificate, or what? what is the reason they give for not telling you how to fix it or point you to a help file? perhaps you should consider changing hosting companies...

I advise you to haul up stakes, pop smoke, and move out... get a decent hosting service and not these amateurs...
