Continue Shopping Redirect

How can I redirect the link for "Continue Shopping" so it goes back to the main page (index I believe?) of my store?

This seems basic but I can't seem to find an answer.

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Change the button on the Template for shopping_cart so that the link matches what is in the header or footer for the Home link ...

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

I thought I found it but I must have the syntax wrong. Could you/someone please correct this for me?

This is what I changed in the tpl_shopping_cart_default.........

<!--bof shopping cart buttons--> <div class="buttonRow forward"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CHECKOUT, BUTTON_CHECKOUT_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div> <div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo '<a href='".HTTP_SERVER.DIR_WS_CATALOG."'() . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Still wrong but here's the latest attempt. I know I'm probably way off.

<div class="buttonRow back"><?php echo '<a href='".HTTP_SERVER.DIR_WS_CATALOG. "'> . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Perhaps this would work better ...

<?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, '', 'NONSSL') . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_CONTINUE_SHOPPING, BUTTON_CONTINUE_SHOPPING_ALT) . '</a>'; ?>

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Not a problem ... glad you could get that working ...

NOTE: and you did, of course, use your templates and overrides for that change ... right?

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

AcK! Not sure. I just know I changed the one file and it seems to be working. Unless I'm missing something.

What other files should I be changing? other than the tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
I've actually just been going into the classic templates and adjusting that to my needs.

Ok, I hope I said something relevant there.

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

I think I need a lesson in overrides. Hadn't bothered to look into it.

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

The file:
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

would be copied to:
/includes/templates/your_template_dir/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

This way, on the next upgrade, your changes and modifications are not wiped out ...

Unfortunately for you ... I just looked at your site and you are not using templates and overrides ...

You are using the Classic Template ...

This means next upgrade your site will go poof and all customizations are destroyed ...

Note: it is not too late to learn how to make these changes and get your site setup correctly before you open the doors ...

Yes ... it will delay your opening a day or three ... or you can do your opening and upgrade your site for templates and overrides in a working directory and then transfer all of this over ...

But I would recommend fixing this sooner rather than later before you go much further ...

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

OH NO! We just launched before I saw this. Too late. :(

Ugh.
I'll need to do it the other way. Looks like I'll need your help once again. Steer me in the right direction again please?

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Do a search on:
/new_shop

I have about a zillion and one threads over the last year for how to "upgrade" a site ...

The same theory can be used to create a working directory and updating it for the live site ...

Re: Continue Shopping Redirect

Actually, that search found your post that had helped me through last week's upgrade.
So I did struggle through that procedure and made it out successfully. I guess it was more of a struggle because I hadn't done overrides and templates correctly. But the important thing is I did figure it out.
And if I did it once I can do it again! :flex:

Now to read up on overrides. (And eat my wheaties!)
