Gift Certificates

One of my customers is trying to redeem her gift certificate and she is trying to use $5 dollars of the gift certicate to pay for shipping too. Is there anyway that she can use it for shipping and how?

Check the configuration for the Modules ... Order Totals ... for Gift Certificate ot_gv and configure it to allow Shipping ...

i follow the instructions to use gift certificates in zencart yet it does not work. i have been working on this for 3 hours with no end in sight.

ok-my bad. i put Gift in Model instead of GIFT. it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for the update that the code is very specific on Gift Certificates or Gift Vouchers that the Product Model must begin with:
GIFT

and that this is case sensative ...

It is always a great help to others to hear the solution to the problem ... :smile:

What would cause "Your Shopping Cart Is Empty" during Gift Certificate purchases?

I've tried the model as GIFT, GIFT-xxxxx, GIFT-five, etc. and I've double checked the steps for creating the gift certificate. The module is enabled. Maybe I have missed something.

Empty shopping cart seems to be a separate problem. I think it has to do with my product info display page because it's overriden on my English page and the original file on my Spanish page. I'll keep tinkering.
