Upcoming items can be put in a shopping cart

Hi everybody,

It seems a customer can put items with zero inventory into a shopping cart (upcoming products). Is there a way to avoid this?

Is it the "allow checkout" option in Configuration->Stock

IF you do not allow adding products to the cart that are out of stock ... then you will not see this happen ...

There is also a setting for the Sold Out image vs Add to Cart for products <= 0 ...

I have a follow up for this. Is there a way to prevent upcoming items from being in the storefront until the day they are released? I want people to still be able to see the images from released products that are out of stock, so I don't want to turn those off. But new products that are not released yet I don't want people to be able to see, any ideas?

Set the products_status on the Instock to Out of Stock and the Products will not show ...

At this time, this is not automated to set the product to instock based on the Date Available ... you will need to manage this yourself ...
