Mass price markup?

Our company is raising the prices of all of our products by 7%. Is there any way to do this on a global scale, instead of going one by one?

If you need to alter the products_price of all products ... this could be done in the Tools ... Insert SQL ...

First, do you use Attributes? If so, do you need the attribute prices raised?

Next, do you use Linked Products?

I honestly do not know if we use Attributes or Linked Products. I was sort of thrown into this position since my supervisor left the company, so I'm just figuring everything out as I go along.

How would I know if I am using these?

Look in phpMyAdmin at the products_attributes table ... do you have any?

Linked Products are products that appear in more than one Category ...

One way to test this is look in phpMyAdmin at how many products are in the products table and how many products are in the products_to_categories table ...

If they match, you are probably not using Linked Products ...

I'm sorry for being a total noob - - I know nothing about php and all that good stuff. Where would I find phpMyAdmin?

Ok, after looking at the Categories / Products, I found that there are certain products (components and such) that appear in more than one category.

If you have no attributes you could update all the products_price in the products table with a simple command to raise them all by 7% via the Tools ... Insert SQL Patches ...

But before jumping on that ... it helps to know if that is the only price a product might have ...

If you have attributes but none have prices, then you can still run a simple command to raise the products_price by 7% in the products table ...
