Type is WHITE in Firefox and BLUE in AE7

Love Firefox but most the world uses AE. I have AE 7.0 and its displaying type in BLUE where the same type in Firefox is WHIITE.

Here is the CSS info...

legend {stylesheet.css (line 195)
font-weight:bold;
padding:0.3em;
}
h4, h5, h6, label, h4.optionName, legend, address, .sideBoxContent, .larger {stylesheet.css (line 97)
font-size:1.1em;
}
Inherited fromdiv#mainWrapper
#mainWrapper {stylesheet.css (line 355)
text-align:left;
}
Inherited frombody#indexHomeBody
body {stylesheet.css (line 21)
color:#FFFFFF;
font-family:Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
font-size:11px;
line-height:1.6;
}

So if you follow this down you see the "legend" type should be WHITE (#FFFFFF) but for some reason is displaying in a ROYAL BLUE in AE 7.0. Look very bad. Any ideas out there??

Hi,

What you've shown us tells us (as it does you) what should be happening. But you say that's not what's happening, and without the rest of the information, we can have no idea what's wrong. So...

the URL of the site is??

We need to see both the stylesheet(s) and the page code to catch things like this.

Re: Type is WHITE in Firefox and BLUE in AE7

Hi again,

Stumped, I am. But there may be a workaround.

The blue text is contained in a legend tag set. So open your style sheet and add color: #ffffff; to the styles for legend. It may be redundant but it should do the trick. IE seems to have difficulty cascading styles down into certain constructs like fieldsets, which is what legend is inside.

As to why this is happening, IE is strange. It has many bugs in it, and it seems that there's not much even Microsoft can do about it, being dragged down by the weight of success as they are. (In other words, if the next version of IE was perfectly standards compliant, suddenly millions of web sites around the world that have been coded to work in IE without regard to standards would break.)

HTH

Thanks, that worked. Sorry for calling it AE and not IE. I use After Effects a lot and it was on my brain.

Thanks again.
