install online or offline?

bascially im not sure which is the best way to install zen cart. Do i install on a remote sever or do i install it locally?

I am having problems with setting up my mac to act as a server as the software MAMP, which i am going to use to do this requires osx 10.4.x and i have 10.3.x. im a bit short on money so i cannot afford to upgrade.

Unless someone knows where i can get an older version of MAMP i will have to install it remotely.

Any sugguestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're short of money to spend on either upgrading your Mac or paying for remote hosting you could try frihost.net

They provide a very good free hosting service - the only requirement is that you have to post on their forum to keep your hosting rights. A couple of posts per day is more than enough, though.

One possible drawback is https is not available. It's not a big issue, for me, as all my payment processing is via PayPal or snail-mail.
