How do I support price ranges?

I have products that have a single price. Zen cart works great for that. I do have products that I want to display a price range for, but I do not want to use the zen cart feature for discount quatities. It would pe perfect if I could display "From .67" in the place where the price is displayed. Is it possible to have text in the price field for some products?

And what is the range dependant upon?

If it is options that the customer is presented with and can select from then this is the normal mode for products priced by attributes. Default is "Starting From"
