my site is so slow!

for some reason my site takes minutes to load each page!
I have followed some of the advice in the faq section but is still slow.

i have also contacted my hosting company and they say it loads fine at thier end.

Does anyone have any sugguestions?

incidentally in order to see what i mean you will have to click on some of the links/products etc.

Opps it finally loaded and now I am waiting for another page to load

Probably it's your host, my site was like a turtle when I was on 1and1 shared host.

Also test what happens if you remove this:

Ok i took out the statscounter code and it seems to have speeded things up a lot.

They provide free detailed web stats. Are there free stats with zen cart?

Many ad-blocking and privacy-protecting tools will block sites like statcounter, etc.
And, some of those sites therefore also will slow down access to your pages.

Which specific stats were you most interested in ?

stats like hits per day, keyword analysis, visit duration etc.
The more advanced the better really.
I imagine its a fairly mandatory requirement for an online business.

The google analytics module works fairly well and provides more than most can analyze properly and is not too resource heavy

awstats thats probably part already there ( ask your host )
will give you the information you need and has NO impact on your site

unfortunatly i cannont use Awstats as i am running other sites on my account.
Awstats cannont descriminate between which stats relate to which site.

So what about google analytics? Does this provide these statistics?
If so where can i get this module? is it a contribution or a website etc?

What does everyone else do to track and analyse traffic using zen cart? Surely you cannot run a business without this information!

You can get some iccky slow downs from this as well as any other code that calls another site ...

You have to weigh the pros and cons ...

Just like if USPS or UPS have a slow server and all of a sudden check out is slow ... turn off shipping for a second and you can see who is slowing you down ...

And ... this is not consistant ...

You can go for weeks without any apparent slow down and then bam ... you have an hour to a day to days or more with horrible slow downs ...
