Quick question: Does Aust Post Mod calculate OS deliveries?

I assume adding this mod would calculate overseas postage as well as for the Australian states???

I reinstalled the whole thing and the error code is not there now but when i do a calculation for postage and click update it throws my web page around and the calculation dont show. Can you take a look please?

Created and account, place a test order and processed correctly and did not see any jumping around nor other anomolies.???

That is really odd as my page throws the right side boxes underneath.
It also comes up with errors saying it cannot conect to the Aust post server:huh:

What platform are you on? PC or Mac and your OS & ver and browser.

I've just taken a look at your site and am happy to tell you that you are not going crazy, you really do have a problem.

The bad news is, I can't really explain the symptoms I'm seeing. It appears to me that the shopping cart data isn't being correctly passed across to the australia post DRC server.

In order to confirm/refute this, I'm going to need you to edit
/includes/modules/shipping/auspost.php for me.

If you can locate line# 258 you'll see it currently reads
// echo $url

If you could remove the two "//" and resave the file it will/should echo on screen the exact data string that is being sent to the server.

Please add a product to the cart, do the 'update' thing and send me a copy of the text string you see (it'll start with "http://drc.edeliver.com.au") but it'll be a much longer string that spans several lines.

Hopefully this information will give me a clue as to exactly what is (or isn't) causing your problem.

Alternatively, I suggest a complete uninstall and reinstall of the module because something really isn't quite right.

As you can hopefully see, for some reason or other, there is no destination postcode being passed on to the server.

I've created an account in your store for further testing and have discovered that this particular problem goes away when logged in. However, the a couple of items I added to the cart didn't have any weight attributes, which produced a different error. When using the Austpost module all items MUST have the weights set.

SO, to see this module work as it should, you need to first log in and then add a few items to your cart (ensuring the items have weights).

This then leaves the question of WHY is it losing the destination post code when NOT logged in. Unfortunately I don't have an answer (yet)

I WILL suggest that you try DELETING
/includes/templates/CUSTOM/templates/tpl_modules_shipping_estimator.php

This will cause the zencart default module to be used. If this takes care of the errors we'll know that there is something amiss in this part of things.
If the exact same problem exists we'll have to start looking elsewhere.

Another thing you can try is to replace the original file
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_shipping_estimator.phpwith the one from the austpost zip file. PLEASE BACKUP THE ORIGINAL FILE FIRST. Restore it if it doesn't have the desired effect.

So, did you put the modified file back then? If not, then you have put something in the wrong place because your store is still using the modified
tpl_shipping_estimator.php

I suggest you re-replace it from the origianl zen-cart distribution file and then see what happens.

To make sure this time i renamed the old file and uploaded the original tpl_shipping_estimator.php file from the template_default folder and put it into the Custom folder but I still get the same result.

This is a PHP configuration problem on your server.
It appears your server administrator is paranoid about security, and has blocked external access using the PHP file() function.

Options:

• force the allow_url_fopen parameter to on
• change the code to use fsockopen() instead ... but that may reveal that the socket wrapper may also be blocked
• get server administrator to relax the security for you
• find another host who can do security protection in other less restrictive ways
• rewrite the auspost module to use CURL instead of fopen()

Good news :-)

Actually, you are NOT getting the same result. Take another look, you'll see that now you have the old template in place there is an additional dropdown box for the STATE (that's how I know which template is being used).

You can ignore the state box, but if you now enter a destination postcode you'll find it will return a valid result (ensure your test item has a weight).

Now that it has a valid response, if you re-add those two // that I asked you to comment out of austpost.php you'll find your RH sidebar no longer drops to the bottom of the screen.

You can now either leave the original tpl_shipping_estimator in place if you like, OR, if you can try re-installing the tpl_shipping_estimator that came with the Austpost module. There are two main differences between them.

1. The original module will always produce an error the 1st time any given user uses it (as you will be able to observe for yourself now). The one supplied with the austpost module aborts before this error is produced, thus forcing the user to enter a postcode before it goes for a quote.
2. The tpl file that comes with the Austpost mosule has the 'state' option removed, since it isn't actually used by the module.

IOW, the differences are rather minor. Cosmetic rather than functional.

Bottom line. The problem you are having is definetly related to the tpl_shipping_estimator.php code. I'm guessing you may have a corrupted copy from the autpost module.
