Before I Start Populating My Catalog I have a Couple of Questions

The site I am building is an e commerce site for a wholesale candy company who sells candy in bulk. So if you buy hard candy you buy it by the pound. So if it cost $5.00 a pound and you buy 5 lbs it costs $25.00. My first question is how do I reflect that in the price field so instead of just showing a price it says price per lb.

Then can I get rid of the Products Quantity without affecting the system? If I leave that blank it says the item is out of stock. I don't think i really need this feature. But I could be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated

On which pages do you want to get rid of the quantity box, and if you do so how will customers tell your client how much they want to buy?

Re: Before I Start Populating My Catalog I have a Couple of Questions

I did not mean on the catalog product pages that the end user sees.

When you add a product Zen Cart wants to know how much of that product is in stock when adding a product. If there is no number in that field you get the big red out of stock image. They also sell via phone and retail storefront so you will never have a real accurate way of telling Zen Cart what the real inventory is unless it links into their inventory system which I have no idea what they are running or how to bridge to it.

Look in the Admin> Configuration> Stock and set the program to not check stock and allow checkout with no stock.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
