made custom template then lost categories

Hi, I followed the instructions on how to make a custom template
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=142 and it all seemed to go according to the instructions until i clicked on my categories and igot this error message.

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/d/o/o/doone/html/storerevolution/cart/includes/languages/english/index.php:117) in /home/content/d/o/o/doone/html/storerevolution/cart/includes/functions/functions_general.php on line 44

Any ideas what I may have done wrong?

Thanks

Re: made custom template then lost categories

I just uploaded the back up file I had on my hard drive and it corrected ONE of the categories but not the other. the error on both categories was the same file so not sure why one would start working and not the other. Also is shows the error as line 117 and the file stops at line 116?
Any advice?
Thanks

That means you have an extra blank line after the closing ?>

Put your cursor right after the > and hit delete about 10 times.

What are you using to edit your files?

A plain text editor rather than a WYSIWYG is recommended.
