Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Explorations:

I am using v1.8.3.

Just trid to install the cross sell mod and received this message when I tried logging on to my admin panel:

Fatal error: Class 'yclass' not found in /home/explora/public_html/zc/admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/xsell_advanced.php on line 18

The store seems to be working fine.

I am sure the error is on my end. Any idea what I did wrong? Any idea how to fix it?

In case you haven't figured it out by now, that's the error you get if you don't install the module manager first.

This module needs another module called module_manager to operate properly.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

I just installed this mod, already have module manager installed, now I have this error when going to Module Manager in Admin:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method yclass::init_template() in /home/bellafav/public_html/shop/myadminfolder/module_manager.php on line 14

Edit - kay...just had to re-upload my tpl_product_info_display because the product page was wiped out...I had the code installed right after the "also purchased" module.

So from that module my page looks like this, is there something there that would cause this problem>

<!--eof also purchased products module--> <!--bof x-sell module--> <?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_modules_xsell_products.php', DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/' . 'tpl_modules_xsell_products.php'); ?> <!--eof x-sell module--> <!--bof Form close--> </form> <!--bof Form close--> </div> <?php //BOF :: Tabbed Products Pro :: echo $tabjscript; //BOF :: Tabbed Products Pro :: ?>

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

The yclass is part of the front end of the cart so you must not have uploaded all the files - specifically includes/classes

Thanks Delia, I checked & all files were there, but re-uploaded init.yclass.php anyway...now I'm getting another error but haven't researched it. Maybe it's an easy fix.

Still can't use this mod though, because it causes a blank product info page.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

I placed the code elsewhere in my page, and now it doesn't wipe out my product info but this mod is not working correctly:

  1. From "how to use" included with the installation:

A. CONFIGURATION:
XSell config can be found here: Admin->configuration->cross sell

I don't have Admin->configuration->cross sell

Enter and check current xsell products at: Admin->Catalog->Advanced Cross-Sell
I. To cross-sell 2 ways (A to B, A to C, B to A, B to C, C to A, C to B):
Just enter product ids or models (depends on which option you set at Admin->configuration->cross sell), SEPARATED by comma
(you can set your own separator at Admin->configuration->cross sell)

When I try to do that, I get an error message "Please input at least 2 products ids/models to cross-sell"

well, obviously this is due to the fact that I can't change to use model #'s instead of id #'s because I don't have Admin>configuration>cross sell

And, yes I did upload all files. This seems like a very cumbersome way to do cross-sell when you have tons of products, I have over 900.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

This whole distribution from the original to this one is very bugged as nothing seems to work like it's supposed to.
The instructions do not say you have to have the original xsell installed first.
There is no configuration->cross sell.

The original one doesn't work right with Zencart 1.3.8.

And this new one is bugged too.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

After re-installing everything, adding the module manager and then the original, then the original worked.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

I finally got cross sell 1 working, cross sell 2 doesn't seem to do anything, and now going to try this one again. It's kind of confusing, all these cross sells that seem to need each other to work.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Ok, this is finally working on my test site. For anyone else having issues this is how we finally got it working - Install cross sells 1 (orginal cross sell), 2 (cross sell advanced), module manager, then this cross sell (just another cross sell). Remove cross sell sql, reinstall module manager  Thank goodness I had help or I would be completely bald by now...

Just a note, I have ALOT of add ons on my site which possibly contributed to the installation problem.

b00n:

Hi there, i have a problem with the 'clean up cross sell' function. Everything else works perfect.

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SELECT products_id FROM products WHERE 1=1)' at line 1
in:
[DELETE FROM products_xsell WHERE products_id NOT IN (SELECT products_id FROM products WHERE 1=1)]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Hello,

Now I'm experiencing the same problem. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Hi,

In the hopes of not sounding like an idiot, I am somewhat confused by:

'1. Allow unlimited number of product fields instead of only 5.'

What does that mean? Unlimited number of product fields?

I am hoping that it will sllow an ulimited number of cross sell items.
example:
Product A's cross sell items b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, etc
Where tje original version only allowed 5 items for each primary product.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

I'm curious if this can add related products by category in the center column of the website (preferably in a bulk fashion)

For example: randomly display 6 belts from the belt category at the bottom of all pants categories.

I searched the tread for a while and am still confused as to how this add-on changes the front end product display.

Thanks.

It's not a random display (wish it was). What you do is add the products you want to display on each other's product pages, you do this in Admin. If you have alot of products, it can be a bit of a pain. Looks like this: click

For what you want, you can use Featured Products and change the name of that in your language file (if you don't want it to say "Featured Products"). But is still won't be random. I'm not sure there is any random displayer that will show in the center column.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

We are in the process of moving our website to a new hosting company. After installing the web pages, db and configuring the configure.php files, the website works flawlessly. It shows all the products and the cross sell module. The only issue (so far) is the Admin default page is blank. When we performed a Debug check, this is the error we got:

[05-Jan-2010 12:07:43] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class yclass in /vs/is/h*s/admin/includes/init_includes/init_yclass.php on line 5

Please advise.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Does anyone know how i style the words "We Also Recommend" using CSS.

On a new site i'm working on the text is in black which is not visible against the background image i use in the category box.

I use red text on all other category boxes which works well but for some reason this text is not defaulting to the red font i have setup in CSS for the centerboxheading.

According to firebug there is no style information for this text.

this might help or set your stock to leave product status OFF when product sells out in your admin settings.:bigups:
