Checkout and Paypal takes customer around in circles

Hi,
i have the cart set up but if i try using a dummy account to check out, on checkout it takes the customer to paypal. then if i click on "no paypal account" and fill in the details, click on everything, it takes me back to the checkout and then we go through the whole process again.

please help!

1. what do you mean by "click on everything" ?

2. do you actually complete a payment?

3. does money get transferred to your PayPal account ?

4. which PayPal module are you using?

5. What version of Zen Cart ? Which patches are installed?
   What addons/contributions are installed?

6. Have you enabled Debug Logging to file in your ZC PayPal settings?
   Please post the logs that your transactions have been generating.

I didnt turn on the debug log... so putting through all the details and clicking on pay in paypal page took me back to my webpage and went around in circles.
