not sure how to test our AIM?

Hi All,

I have searched the forums the last few days trying to avoid a post, but I am lost on how to actually test our authorizenet AIM acct. Do I literally buy something off our site with my own credit card (yes I like our products) or are those test card #s used to do that to check if ZC and Authorizenet are talking to each other? Other threads had mentioned the test numbers are more for developers, which I clearly am not.

SIM is not installed.
CC is not installed.
AIM is installed with our login ID and transaction key
AIM set to production as is our Authorizenet acct
ZC version 1.3.7 fresh install

Thanks for the help,

Andy

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

I think you have to put your AIM in test mode.

Make a purchase from your site, and you won't actually be charged.

OR simply make a purchase and then refund yourself. That will test both purchase and refunds, and you get to see how both are handled.

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Thanks very much for the reply JP.

I did as you suggested, and tried charging a real card in production mode - got to step 2 of 3 with the following error:

"Communications Error - Please notify webmaster. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct any information and try again or contact us for further assistance."

thoughts or suggestions?

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Also, wanted to mention:

host: doteasy
Curl is enabled

although, when I spoke to them on the phone, the rep said to use "/usr/bin/curl" as the proxy address. It varies from the address:port format suggested by ZC...but I don't have enough knowledge to disagree on this information.

if I can provide more info, please let me know and I will certainly try.

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Try installing this curl testing tool - download it, unzip it, upload it to your server, and post a link to it:

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Thank you Dr.Byte,

I have unzipped the file, but wasn't able to see a "public_html" folder. I did find a /var/www/html/shop/pub folder. Is that the correct directory?

Please bare with me, as I am very new to all this!

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

yes, that'll be fine.

many hosts use "public_html"
some use "htdocs"
some use "httpdocs" and/or "httpsdocs"
some use "html" (like yours)

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Okay - it doesn't seem like CURL has any problems on your server.
Doesn't look like it needs any proxy either.

Do you have CURL Proxy turned on in the admin ? If so, turn it off and test AIM again.
Admin->Configuration->My Store->Enable CURL Proxy ---set to false.

It works!!!! We can't thank you enough for your help!

I am sitting here somewhat stunned:smile:

Would you suggest deleting that curltest file?

Thanks so much Dr.Byte,

Re: not sure how to test our AIM?

Yes, it's probably good to delete the curltest.php file now that you're done testing with it.
