Zen Cart Problems - trying to set up my template

Getting rid of the instruction text in the header would help your logo breathe easier. It is in the tagline - open /apple_zen/common/tpl_header.php in a good text editor like Notepad++ (download free from sourceforge) and find the tagline text constant name. Then paste that into the bottom left box in the Developers Toolkit in admin > Tools, select all files and search. This will show you the language file where the text is defined, and you can open that in Notepad++ and delete the text leaving only the two single quotes ''.

I don't know how Dreamweaver works, but it looks like you have been doing some editing in the stylesheet and messed up the comments in a few places. You have ```
/* blue
#navMainWrapper {
...
background:url(../images/content_bg.gif) repeat-y 80% 0;
}

/eof blue/

which is missing an end comment tag. Add */ after the } to get
}*/

Since you want to use red, add a */ after the first "red" and /* */ around the "eof red":

/* red

#navMainWrapper {
...
background:url(../images/content_bg.gif) repeat-y 80% 0;
}

eof red

to get```
/* red */
...
/* eof red */

Re: Zen Cart Problems - trying to set up my template

I got the instructions by the logo deleted.. the logo is still like it was though. How do i get it to stretch across the page?

Also, how to I get all of the zen-cart advertisements out of the side-bars?

Something seems like it is missing from the site greatly. I am trying to make it look more like an online store and something about it isn't right.. I feel like maybe it is the sidebars but this template only allows them on the right side...

on the background of the website, with the blue diagonal lines, is there anyway to take those out?

Re: Zen Cart Problems - trying to set up my template

I noticed that the stylesheet has #logo defined with a (small) width, and a comment to remove the width if desired.

Read the stylesheet - there are many comments about modifications you can make.
The sidebar ads can be controlled in admin. I don't know if the single sidebar is hard-coded into the template or if the normal admin control in Configuration > Layout Settings > Column Left Status - Global is working.

attireforall -

May I suggest you read the AppleZen support thread? I think Jade has probably answered all of your questions at one time or another already.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
