IP-based redirect to my various international company sites
I've got a bit of an idea and I'm interested in the difficulties associated with setting it up. I'd like to create a system where, when a customer hits the central .com for a domain, it checks their IP and forwards them to an address. (Australians would be forwarded to brandname.com.au, UK people to brandname.co.uk, USA to brandname.com/shop/, etc)
Each address would have, what appears from the outside, to be a completely individual shop with regionalised pricing and regionalised descriptions (I'll need a completely different description in each region, with both language differences and search engine penalization for duplicate content a worry), but on the inside I'd like some sort of linking for ease of creation, because the products sold are going to be exactly the same across all the shops.
expansys.com does this pretty well, except for the IP-based forwarding. Can the same be done through Zen-Cart, and how should it be set up?
