can't create an account after install/remove mod

Hi, I have a problem and I don't know if this is the place to post it, but I can not find the answer. When I try to Create an Account for practice, when you fill out all the information on the Create an Account page and click submit nothing happens. It doesn't go to the next page like it should . It creates a account in administration , but it doesn't send a welcome e-mail or anything . I'm stump. If anybody can help me, please let me know.

What addons/contributions have you installed?
What's the URL of your site?
What PHP version is on your server?

Zen Cart 1.3.7
Database Patch Level: 1.3.7
v1.3.7 [2007-07-19 12:49:03] (Fresh Installation)
PHP Version 4.3.11

I tried to add on the Image Handler 2.0 , but I could not get my pictures to pop up, so I uninstall it. Everything worked up to that point I guess.

It seems to do everything up to the point where it normally checks for a phpBB system to link to.
Did you install phpBB on this site at all ?

No I didn't, should I do that or what can I do. It use to work, but stop working the other day for some reason.

Did it send you a welcome email after you created an account? This might sound like a dumb ? but does the phpBB do anyway. I'm still learning, but I have learn a lot from you guys.

What changed "the other day" ?
Did you add something new?
Did you reload several files?
Did you change some admin switches?

phpBB is a discussion-forum software, similar to this conversation here.

Don't install it if you're not planning to use it. I was only asking because Zen Cart attempts to create a login in that software if you have it installed.

You don't want it if you don't already have a need for it.

When I tried to use image handler 2. After I installed it and seen it wasn't working on my site for some reason, thats about the time when it started not going to the next page after you create an account, and sending out a welcome email. I didn't change anything except the size of my pictures. I have them set at width 100
height 101. Thats all I changed.

If backed up my categories in my data base and install zencart again, will I lose my products information? I want have to start all over again with my store will I?

It's with great hesitation that I answer this question.

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, MAKE A FULL BACKUP of your files AND your database.

Then, I suggest you re-upload just the PHP files.

I might also suggest that you do a comparison to see if there are any extra files on your server that shouldn't be there ... something like this procedure: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_-_Diagnosing_Obscure_Issues

I don't think it's a database problem yet, but can't be certain without checking all the settings in the database ... which is a complex task.

Well I have reinstalled zencart to my server from a backup copy I had downloaded a while back, but I still have the same problem. When you fill in the create account, it will not go to the next page at all. It is suppose to log that person in at that time, and send them an welcome email. I guess it is a data base problems. I sure don't want to have to redo my store. I have well over 800 hundred products listed which took a while to do. Come to think of it when I was making a discount coupon this is when all this started to happen, between that and the image handler 2.
DrByte has tried to help me, but I know there are some more of you that has had the same problems, so if you can help, please do

Please install a fresh copy of Zen Cart into another folder, and into another database.

Test to see whether account-creation works properly there before adding any of your customizations or your real data.

Hi DrByte I did that last night, everything worked, except I could not upload my back up data base. It said that the file is larger then can be uploaded to the sql sever.

DrByte I have fix the problem. For some reason I went to the GV Coupons and set that up to give first time account creator a $5.00 discount. Then I went to Discount Coupons and set that up to give a discount for $5.00. They were both working against one another. How stupid can I be...lol I cut off the GV Coupons and left the Discount Coupons under Gift Certificate, and it works like a charm. Sorry for all the mix up. I guess you learn by your misstates. Thank you for all your help.

Will have to make a note to research and see why doing things that way would cause a problem ... they shouldn't.
