Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

The files should be loaded to:
/download

The filenames should be Zip files and contain no spaces, special characters etc.

The filenames are case sensative so be sure that you are writting them identical to how they are spelled in the /download directory on your server ...

Check the permissions of the /download at 755 and the filenames themselves at 644 ...

Make sure both your configure.php files are referring to the same paths, directories and database in:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

Also, look in your Zen Cart Admin for the version in the Tools ... Server Info ...

What does it say from below the menu bar and up to and including the large PHP Vx.x.x

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

Not much will be available for Download if you do not upload the files to your site ...

You should FTP the files to the /download directory and ensure that you are not using spaces, special characters etc. on these filenames ...

Then on the Attributes, the filenames must match identically ...

Being on a Windows Server you will not be able to use the more secure Redirect ON in the Attribute settings and will need to turn this setting to OFF ...

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

NOTE: the media clips are short demo clips of the music ... the Download itself is the full copy ...

Perhaps you are mixing them up?

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

I have now created a new category called music. I can browse to this category OK from the customer side of the shop. and it shows fine that there are no items in the categorywhen browsing from the category box. but when i add an item into the category i get the following '
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at \NAS37ENT\domains\u\uncletadd.com\user\htdocs\zen_cart\includes\languages\english\index.php:1) in \NAS37ENT\domains\u\uncletadd.com\user\htdocs\zen_cart\includes\functions\functions_general.php on line 44' what surprises me is that I can still get to the product buy say browsing all products or browsing for new products. This seems to be happening for both general productsa and music.

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

What sort of "preview" were you envisioning?

Say you have got a song and you want customers to hear like 30second part of the song how would you set that up?

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

Okay ... I wasn't sure whether you were saying you already understood how music clips work or just saying that you meant something different than the actual download.

This FAQ (first item on list when searching for "music") explains setting up the clips:

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

Setting up music store on 1.3.8a
Been reading...read some more
Tinkered/read
Ok. So I have the music (.zip files) working fine.
I setup the media manager, record co., recording artist, music genre and media types; Uploaded clip, linked to product. No preview button. Pray tell, what have I missed? Searched high n low through manual, website and forum here, before posting.
The site is http://mattersofmusic.com/zenden/index.php
Please advise, I've not many hairs left.
Great documentation on this forum btw, has been a great help in other areas.

Re: troubles setting up downloadable music

Hmmm...ok, I have previews (not certain how I attained that breakthrough), but all show at each track. I'll go back to the drawing board and setup media manager again from scratch.
Thank you
