Re: how to make search look for the Item Name

The search already searches the products_name field ...

Have you an URL to your site where you are having this problem and examples of what you cannot find?

Re: how to make search look for the Item Name

hi

if u go to http://www.gezelschapsspelen.be/

and do a search for Runebound

then u see that for dutch it finds 8 games but only 7 for english and for french 6
happends to be the games only with the word runabound in the description

for example a search in english for the product "alles of niets" will not locate this product

http://www.gezelschapsspelen.be/alles-of-niets-p-105.html?language=en

however the name is "alles of niets"

thx

Re: how to make search look for the Item Name

Go to your phpMyAdmin and do a query on your products_description table ...

SELECT * FROM products_description WHERE language_id = 1 AND products_name  LIKE '%Runabound%';
SELECT * FROM products_description WHERE language_id = 2 AND products_name  LIKE '%Runabound%';
SELECT * FROM products_description WHERE language_id = 3 AND products_name  LIKE '%Runabound%';

This assumes your language_id are 1, 2 and 3 ...

What we are looking for is that you actually have these products with matching products_description records ...

NOTE: I cannot break this in v1.3.6 or v1.3.7 or v1.3.7.1 using Runebound for the Product name ...

Re: how to make search look for the Item Name

Showing rows 0 - 27 (28 total, Query took 0.0066 sec)
SQL query: SELECT *
FROM zen_products_description
WHERE language_id =4
AND products_name LIKE '%Runebound%'
LIMIT 0 , 30;

this is working for my language files 2,3 & 4

so the table is ok on https://www.gezelschapsspelen.be

i have the same results on my new clean install on my home server

Re: how to make search look for the Item Name

ok problem solved

i created a new db on my server with clean structure
and did an import of the data in utf8_general_ci

now the search function works fine :clap:

i dont think this is normal behaviour for a search function

better have some developer looking into it :shocking:
