additional img problem - can't see the original img thumb!

So I have img1.jpg which is uploaded from admin and then with ftp img1_detail1.jpg and img1_detail2.jpg.. I don't use LRG or MED images all my images are same size and they open in the product page not in popups etc.

all is fine except the additional image thumbs doesn't display the original main image.. so basicly now customers need to go back to menu to view the main img... How can I get the additional images to display all of the images even the first one as well?!? please help

only solution I came up with would be upload the main image again as a additional image like img_detail0.jpg but then user would need to load same image twice...

What you are describing is not default ZC behavior, and without being able to see this in action there is no way to diagnose it.

The product main image will not display alongside the additional images by default; it displays at the top of the product info page, while additional images display at the bottom of the page. Is this what you are talking about?

check that image. I moved the additional images below the main image and the additional images open up where the main image is.. the problem is that I'd need thumbnail for the main image as well...

Can you post a link to your site? The problem is still not clear to me.
You have a huge main product image with two additional image thumbnails below it. Are you saying you want a thumbnail of the main image below the full-size main image? Or in place of it? Or is what you are calling the "main image" some other image than shown here?
Are you using a mod to display images differently than the standard method?

Also, you say you are not using MED or LRG images; do you mean you are loading only full-size images and letting the program display them as thumbnails? That would be very bad, as a page with ten thumbnails would take forever to load.

yes exactly since the thumbnails open in the place of the main image (the big image in the pic).. I think I'm using the standard method for it..

The standard function for additional images (and for the main image) is to open in a popup when clicked (or in a new window if javascript is not enabled). Anything else is from an optional mod you have installed. There is Swap Images, which I think functions like your description, though I've never used it myself.

Unless you are using Image Handler 2, which makes true thumbnails from your full-size images, you should load an image file sized to your thumbnail dimensions and optimized for web display, and then a full-size version with the same filename followed by _LRG (e.g. widget.jpg and widget_LRG.jpg). Medium images are optional, as the small image will be used as the main product image if there is no medium image.

Thumbnail images should generally be no more than 2-10k file size. If they are larger, you are doing something wrong, and making your customers wait unnecessarily for images to load.
