Adding custom box to index page

I am wanting to add a custom box above new products on the index page of this site: https://www.beadoire.com

I installed the editable sidebox mod and thought setting that to single column layout would do it, but doesn't seem to as it won't appear there (I thought I had been able to put things there using that setting in the past).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: Adding custom box to index page

The "single column" setting in Tools > Layout Boxes Controller has never been functional - it it just there for a future plan.

If you only want your box content on the home page, put it in define_main_page.php using admin > Tools > Define Pages Editor. You can include a div around the content and style it with a border in your stylesheet if you want it to look like a box.
