Sort products by model number

Hi,

All my products have a model number in detailed view. Can I sort my products by using the model number :oops:

Sort where, exactly?

If you mean on the index products list page, go to your admin, then Configuration --> Product Listing.

Give the Display Product Model a number other than 0. Then, in Display Product Listing Default Sort Order, change it to whatever number you used plus 'a'. So, if you made the Display Product Model = 4, then Display Product Listing Default Sort Order would be '4a' (without the quotes).

I have tried this but the products want sort after product model. Could there be any other settings that override my settings ?

I am talking about sorting them after product model for the customers to see.... Not the admin panel

That place in the admin that I mentioned above is where you change it FOR the public view ... there are numerous places this can be over-ridden, and no way to even guess where without looking at your site.

Can you provide a link as well as a mock-up showing how exactly you want the products sorted?
