Download attributes for all categories?

Hello all!

I'm new to Zen cart, but have managed to get my cart in place, templated it to match the rest of my site, figured out the small, medium, and large images, placed some products in my store, added PayPal Express and PayPal IPN, (which are both working successfully!), and purchased a product to make sure everything was running smoothly. It is.

However, I've been searching all morning, and can't find the answer to 2 questions I have. I'm hoping one of you can be of some assistance! (:

1. Is there anyway to test your downloads, without actually making a purchase? I want to make sure ALL of my zip's are correctly working before I launch the site. I'm kind of weird that way. Is there a spot in the admin panel that allows this?

2. Is there any way to create an attribute and apply it to all of my categories, so that when I enter a new product, they automatically have the Download radio button, and Zip File selected? All of my products are downloadable, (no shipping at all), and I would like to just be able to hop in, add my products, and only have type in the name of the zip file for each product. Is this possible?

2. You can create a blank product with the common info/attributes set up, and each time you want a new product copy/duplicate that and edit it.

So there's really no way to set the attributes to the whole category then?

For testing why not use check/mo payment module to make the purchase, which will set to pending, than change the status of the order to processing, and the test the download. After your done just delete the order.
