cc charged but no order, using CC Avenue

I am having a huge problem of the same nature as this post. The order went smoothly, through the payment gateway, and the customers credit card payment was successful, and the customer is sent back to the website after greetings of successful transaction. The customer received the e-mail confirmation from the payment gateway, I also receive the copy of the transaction. But there is no order on Zen Cart admin. Which means the Zen Cart did not capture the order. I did a test transaction using my own credit card, the transaction went smoothly, along with success greats etc., and e-mail confirmation. Still there is no order showing on Zen Cart Admin panel. When I checked back the site and try to place another order, my previous order still came up as part of incomplete ordering.

My payment gateway is CCAvenue, and I am new to Zen Cart.

Other paymeent like Money Order and Checks have no such.

Can someone please help me?

thanks,

Isvara dasa.

Re: cc charged but no order, using CC Avenue

I seriously need help with my problem.
I am using CCAvenue payment system. The customers complete the checked out and payed. The credit card is charged, and receive a successful order from the Payment Gateway. I also receive a confirmation of the payment from the Payment Gateway. However, there is no order recorded on the Zen Cart Admin. Which means I have no idea of what customers paid for. This is only happening with orders with credit cards. Orders with money order and check are working perfectly. I have tried many ways but no success.

Can someone please help.

thanks,

Isvara dasa.

I'm not sure where you got the "CCAvenue" payment module from, but I would suggest that your first course of action would be to ask them why these symptoms are happening.

Another thing to check is ... Was the module designed for the version of Zen Cart you're using? Maybe the code needs to be upgraded to suit your version of Zen Cart and perhaps new functionality of ccavenue's services.

I got the CCAvenue module from one of Zen Cart contributes. The module itself is about two years old. I asked the company, that is the only one they seem to be having. Their technical staff don't seem to be knowledgeable about new Zen Cart functionalities. In the meanwhile, this is causing me a big fiasco with my customers. CCAvenue gave me additional integration kit, but this kit is PHP3, so its kind of useless.
I really need help.

sincerely,

Isvara

I might recommend doing a search for "ccavenue" on the forum. You're not the only one who has had problems. Maybe their experiences may help you.

I did the search, but the last discussions about CCAvenue is more than a year old.

That may be an important and very telling piece of information.

However, since the contribution code is older than that, perhaps some of the discussion may point out bugs and fixes you could incorporate.

I went through all the discussions, there are more frustrations there than any practical solution. I wonder if there is anyone from India who uses CCavenue who is reading this discussion.

Your problem is probably the payment data not making it back to ZenCart. I've got the same issues with a module I'm working on currently; does ccavenue allow for any redirects etc? If they do, and if you could find out where you should redirect those back to . . . that might do the trick

I don't know if there is any. If there is, let me know. I heard there is a module from OS Commerce called 'order check', that allows the database to store orders before it goes to payment. i wonder if it will work in Zen Cart. Someone said Os commerce modules work in Zen Cart. Can someone confirms this?

thanks,

Isvara

It is true that OS Commerce and Zen cart come from the same tree but they are two totally different branches. Some people have had success in porting over OS Commerce modules to ZenCart, while others have gone grey trying to figure them out.

ZenCart already has a built in module for storing CC data if you're wanting to go that route. If you enable CC payments then an email will be sent to the chosen address containing the middle 8 digits of a credit card number. The remaining information is stored with the customers order in Zen's database. Put the two together and you've got a full cc number ready for processing.

The downside to this path means that the client will have to enter the cc transaction manually; which if they are just starting off and sales are slow this may be fine; but if they're taking 100's of orders a day this would not be the way to go.

You would then want to set them up with a payment gateway, there are several out there to choose from but I'm partial to Auth.net; (because I'm a reseller for them! ) But you'd want to do something automated eventually.

But is there module like "orders-in-holding" for Zen Cart? Os commerce has the module, which can hold an order in the database before sending to payment gateway for payment.

Re: cc charged but no order, using CC Avenue

I'm thinking the cc module would do that. As nothing would be sent to the gateway until someone does it themselves. Try it out and use the test card number provided in the module (it's on the right when you enable the module)

admin > modules > payment > credit card

It'll do what you're looking for
