Need help removing the Buy Now Option.

Hi,

OK, I have installed the cart and read through the FAQ, wiki and did a few searches on the forums and still can not find out how to accomplish my goal. I am trying to make the cart work like so. Need to register to Browse, need to be authorised to see price and no one can purchase anything. It is more an interactive wholesale catalog.

Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Admin > Configuration > Customer Details >
Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices (set to 1 or 3)
Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending (set to 2)

Experiment with these settings to see what works best for you. You may also want to set Customer Authorization: Hide Prices.

I'm not certain what will give the whole set of variants in access without purchase ability. It might work to uninstall all of the payment modules and possibly shipping modules.

Would simply removing the Buy Now Buttong wont do?

Yes, for starters... Configuration >
Product Listing > Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product), and
New Listing > Display Product Buy Now Button, and
Featured Listing > Display Product Buy Now Button, and
All Listing > Display Product Buy Now Button.

It will be necessary to go into the code (/includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php) to remove the add to cart button from the product info page.

There is a small bug in v1.3.7 on the settings for Customer login and browsing rules ...

This has been fixed in v1.3.8 to manage this for you ...

Thanks for all the ideas. I have been playing with the settings as described but some are not seeming to work right. I take it from the posts, that this is a known issue and will be addressed in the next release. Can anyone tell me when that might be?

Thanks fof all the advice. I went into the core file and removed that whole routine so the buy button no longer shows anywhere. :)
