More on FEDeX shipping mod

Still trying to ship HEAVY "FREIGHT ONLY" items!

I noticed that the FedEx module was broken into 2 separate mods. Ground and Express. Here's what I would like to see PLEASE!!!

#1 - FedEx Freight Module.

#2 - Weight limit user set attributes built into the mods

Single item - Ground 0# - 80#

Multiple item - Ground - 0# - 200#

Single item - Express 0# - 80#

Multiple item - Express 0# - 200#

Freight 80# - 30,000#

#3 - UPS Module - weight limits
#4 - USPS Module - weight limits

all tied together so that if a single item exceeds the weight limits or the accumulated weights exceed limits the shipping defaults to a weight class that it will qualify for.

#5 - Shipping module for Yellow Freight, Consolidated Freightways and other major truck lines.

I am dependent on You guys for programming, there is no way I could ever even attempt this! the only programming experience I have is making the screen on a TRS80 say "hello" and I spelled it wrong!

Thanks

Re: More on FEDeX shipping mod

are you going to start any more threads about fedex

and last time I looked fedex freight didnt use an API, thats the reason that there isnt one,

as for fedex shipping (ground and express), this was split to conform with fedexes
rules

and why in the world do you need to different rule sets for single or multiple items?

Sorry for the multiple threads, I made a mistake, if the moderator could merge the two, I would appreciate it.

That's cool, I like it that way. Thanks!

Just got off the phone with FedEx freight and they said sure. TJ Clark(fedex) will be calling me back with some more info. Not that I can do anything with it, but possibly point someone in the correct direction.

If anyone needs TJ's contact info PM me...

and why in the world do you need to different rule sets for single or multiple items?
I was thinking into the future on that part.
The difference for single or multiple packages because sometimes shipping 2 - 70# packages is cheaper than freight, and sometimes not. I have a problem with Zen-Cart's logic for spliting packages. I would rather have it set 1 package for rated weight, or 2 or more packages when the weight of the individual items exceed the shipping weight, then split.

Thanks

Re: More on FEDeX shipping mod

Talked with TJ and he said the API is not quite ready, but they DO do rate quotes via XML. If this will work for you programmers, PM me for TJ's phone number & extension.

Re: More on FEDeX shipping mod

Sorry, thought I was in the right place when I made the second post.

Anyone have any idea's how to facilitate shipment of large bulky items. In my case, my largest 180' Steel Flagpole weighs 20,600# and one of the smallest commercial polls still is 30' long and weighs 104#. Will not fit in a UPS truck, but FedEx freight will carry it.
