PayPal IPN not showing description

I having the exact same issue as was explained in this thread,
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74530
However the only addon I have is the paypal verified side box. The 2 files mentioned are from the origional install on 8/16.
I had my first order today and it didn't have anything in the description. The only way I found out what was ordered was by emailing the cust.
Test orders shows the description if the money order option is chosen.
I also noticed it didn't reduce the quantity of the product ordered or send me a email that there was a order made. But it does both with the money order.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Pat

Re: PayPal IPN not showing description

It won't recover history. It should just prevent the specific error you mentioned from happening again.

If the order is in a pending status in PayPal, then when it converts to a paid order, it might push the order forward.

If you want to use a crude method to extract the product numbers from the order, you could grab the PayPal Sessions Viewer from the downloads area and install it. NOTE: That tool will show you ALL attempted PayPal orders ... INCLUDING those that WERE ABANDONED ... and thus never paid for. So, don't treat it as a "yay, look at all the extra sales" resource. It is only an aid to find out what a client had ordered when the IPN failed fatally due to a code problem.

Do you mean that after installing the above file, the process completes without an error, but you see no order?

Re: PayPal IPN not showing description

Switching to mySQL 4 fixed all the PayPal issues. It should be noted somewhere in the documentation/requirements ect.. that the PayPal module is not compatible with mySQL5.
Thanks for the help

I would do that if I were to encounter the same problems on MySQL 5.
So far, I cannot. I've been using it on MySQL 5 without problems.
