Re: Superglobals Plus

You might want to check the template's /common/tpl_footer.php file. Looking at the HTML output, the last thing I see before the Array () is

<!--eof- site copyright display -->

That comment is injected by tpl_footer.php. Upon return, tpl_main_page.php next outputs

<!--bof- parse time display -->

Since that HTML comment doesn't appear on your site, it appears that something's amiss with the tpl_footer.php output.

Re: Superglobals Plus

Very good! Yep, that was the problem. Now I'll check the live site to see if the same error exists.

After all of this, I still can't see what I need. I guess I'll post another thread rather than hijack this one for my real issue.

Lat9, thank you for this. Been meaning to suggest something to address the validation issues, but hadn't gotten around to it/confirmed that fully addressed.

Re: Superglobals Plus

I just installed Super Globals on my test site, and now I can't see the store side at all, while the admin side's format is totally changed.

Attachment 16627

Not only is everything in one long column, but when I do scroll all the way down to Super Globals, the display is so wide that I can't get to the right hand sidebar to edit anything. I followed the installation instructions to the letter, merging the admin core files and copying the others. Then I clicked on Admin Home and it all blew up.

Any ideas?

Re: Superglobals Plus

The plugin's installation requires a fair number of code-merges; it looks like you missed (or misplaced) a couple of elements in the admin. What version of Zen Cart are you using?

FWIW, I've got this installed on every version of Zen Cart that's been released since v1.3.8a and have never seen the display go wonky like that.

Re: Superglobals Plus

I'm using 1.55a. I used Beyond Compare to do the code merges, but yes, of course, that's likely the issue. The store side is affected as well, though, not just the admin. The store side isn't displaying anything at all--blank screen.

I'll upload a fresh copy of the three files and try it again. Thanks.

Re: Superglobals Plus

Store-side blank screen is usually due to missing /includes/functions/extra_funcitons/superglobals.php. Which template are you using?

Re: Superglobals Plus

One other thing, though--the directions specify three core files in the admin section, but I only see two--footer.php and stylesheet.css. What other file is supposed to be merged?

Whoops, you replied faster than I expected. I'm using a minor modification of the classic template.

Re: Superglobals Plus

It looks like superglobals.php is supposed to be in \includes\functions\extra_functions, and that's where I put it.

That's a documentation error; the change to the admin's index.php (also a core file) is now conditional (based on the 1.5.5 admin changes) and only affect the superglobals' display on the admin front-page.

The plugin uses Zen Cart 1.5.4 as its core-file basis; there's one line

@import url("stylesheet_superglobals.css");/* including stylesheet for superglobals display */

that needs to be added to the admin's stylesheet.css (after the other @import statements) and one code block

<!--bof- superglobals display -->
<?php
// BEGIN Superglobals
if(SHOW_SUPERGLOBALS_ADMIN == 'true') echo superglobals_echo();
// END Superglobals
?>
<!--eof- superglobals display -->

that needs to be added at the very end of the admin's footer.php.

Re: Superglobals Plus

Hm, if those are all the changes that need to be made, then I added way too many, using Beyond Compare. I've pulled in a fresh copy of footer.php and I'll make those changes manually.

Ditto for the stylesheet.css file, since that's changed ***significantly ***for 1.5.5a.

Re: Superglobals Plus

Aha, that fixed the admin side. I'm still getting a blank page on the store side, but I'll go through and make absolutely certain all the files were copied over.

And yes, I've checked and double-checked, and all the files for the store side were copied over.

Re: Superglobals Plus

Check your merge into your template's tpl_main_page.php. Here's what I've got at the very end of my responsive_classic clone:

...
<?php /* add any end-of-page code via an observer class */
  $zco_notifier->notify('NOTIFY_FOOTER_END', $current_page);
?>
<!--bof- superglobals display -->
<?php
// BEGIN Superglobals
if(SHOW_SUPERGLOBALS == 'true') echo superglobals_echo();
// END Superglobals
?>
<!--eof- superglobals display -->
</body>
