Adding to general product type

Hello,

My Client is a seller of baseball cards and the general product type is almost what we need with the exception of a few fields.

I have read all the posts for creating a custom product type and I think I get most of it but I am having some trouble.

Does anyone have an easy to follow how-to either:
Add custom fields to the Product Type General, this would be the preferred method since I only need to add a couple fields for serial number, card number, and condition.

OR

How to create a new product type for what I am doing. I have read the Sticky post on this one and the post about the magnet type was good but lacking the SQL that he says he added to his database.

I am still new to Zen Cart so any help would be much appreciated. Feel free to email me on this!

Have a look in the downloads section for Moku's Book Product type - that should get youstarted on creating your own custom type.

I did download that but that is way more complex than what I needed.
