What's the difference between PayPal IPN and PayPal Express?

I have done some searches, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. Sorry if this has been discussed.

From what I have seen IPN is just an instant payment notification setting. Do I need to set up both payment options? I don't want to confuse my customers.

What I want is this:

  1. I want to use PayPal as my only payment option.
  2. ...So I need to allow non-PayPal users to pay via PayPal. (Without having to create a PayPal account if they don't want to do so.)

Which PayPal option should I set up, or should I set up both?

(Links to threads that discuss this would be welcome, too. As I said, I did some searches, but didn't find what I was looking for.) Thanx!

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72304 - maybe this thread will help.

BTW- you only need 1 PayPal module.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: What's the difference between PayPal IPN and PayPal Express?

WOOT! Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know.

In other news: I wonder why I couldn't find that thread with my searches? lol. Anyway, I'm just glad I know now. Express all the way, for me! (Assuming that my customers will be able to pay without a PayPal account if they wish.)

Thank you. I'll resume my testing!
