Quantity discount applied to whole category?

Hello,
I've figured out how to apply a quantity discount to products (ie - if you purchase 1 or 2, they're $12.00; if you purchase 3-5, they're $11.00; etc.)

I don't see a way a copy that information from one product to all the other products in its category...or to simply set it up on the category itself so all products automatically receive that pricing structure.

Any help would be appreciated! I can set them all up by hand, but I'd like to save the client some time by doing it the most efficient way possible.

I was looking for the exact same thing and the forum doesn't seem to answer this question.

Do I have to manually enter the same discount on 200 products in the same category?

The Product Price Manager allows for you to set discounts on quantities based on Percentage or Amount ...

You could set this to charge 11.00 when 3-5 and decide how much for products over that quantity ...

The products_discount_quantity table could be built manually if you add a product with discount(s) then test that out ...

You also need to update the fields in the products table for:
products_discount_type
products_discount_type_from

In the future, I'll be copying a product that already has discounts set as a starting point for a new product in the same category but I still have 200 products that need updating and just I'll use your method for that!

I got it to work. i had to set the radio button "priced by attubutes" to "NO". Then it worked.

Sorry to be thick. But does this mean that it is possible to apply a discount (either a % or an amount) if a customer buys, say, 5 different products from a particular category?

(I think) it is possible to set it up for catagories or each product. i just use it for each product and then copy the product attibutes.

If you want to do this sort of thing, you need to use the Quantity Discounts contribution, which allows you to look at the cart contents holistically rather than item by item. It's in the downloads section.
