Error 406 Not Acceptable on install

Hi just trying to install the most up to date 3.7.1 on a clients site , I am getting the following error after clicking save server settings.

the check screen indicates that this is the only warning ::-

PHP API Mode = cgi-fcgi

and the php version is : PHP Version 5.2.2

The full error is :--
406
Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /store/zc_install/index.php could not be found on this server.
*******/httpd Server at ********* Port 80

I have contacted the hosting , but prefer info from people in the know here !

To add some more info to this post , i found out that it is creating the configure.php files at zero bytes , at this point it is failing. I am going to try and write the files myself to see if the install will carry on . but dont know how to skip that step in the install.

Does it work any differently if you rename the /zc_install/.htaccess to htaccess_OFF ?

AS for renaming the htaccess file , seems to make no difference. Somehow I have managed to skip a few steps , get the database created. how do I tell zen that the store is there and stop running the install ? ( renaming zc_install simply gives me a 404 , zc_install not found. ) thanks Dr Byte.

zc_install is triggered when your configure.php files are missing or contain default or invalid information.
