Discount valid for only one area of store

I want to offer a discount to the members of a forum I belong to but I want to limit the discount to a certain area of my site. I sell fine jewelry and loose gemstones. I want the discount to apply to the loose gemstones only and not to the jewelry. Is there a way to do this?

After you create your coupon, press the "restrictions" button (in coupon admin) and narrow it to loose stones.
