blank password sent when click on forgotten password

Just upgraded, everything looks OK so far but when i click on forgoten passowrd it sends me to a page where i enter email, then after tells me new one sent. Then the email sent says usual text but the space where new passowrd should be is blank???

any ideas

Sounds like one or more of the files involved in the pwd-generation process wasn't upgraded properly.

Check all of these, and make sure you haven't installed any mods that change these files:
/includes/modules/pages/password_forgotten/header_php.php
/includes/languages/english/YOURTEMPLATE/password_forgotten.php
/includes/functions/functions_general.php
/includes/functions/password_funcs.php
/includes/functions/functions_email.php

I updated the files you mentioned just in case apart from this one:

/includes/languages/english/YOURTEMPLATE/password_forgotten.php

Because the folder YOURTEMPLATE or my templates name folder 'eden' is not there.

The file password_forgotten.php is there in this location:

/includes/languages/english/password_forgotten.php

Which i updated. i tried again but still no joy. It sends me no new password, this is what i get:

*Your new password to 'Eden Spirit' is:

After you have logged in using the new password, you may change it by going to the 'My Account' area.*

Any thoughts?

Admin->Configuration->Minimum Values->Password ... what's the setting there ?

This has been occurring for one of my clients with an older version of Zen (1.27). I double checked the files and the setting in Admin is minimum 5 characters. Any suggestions to prevent these blank password emails? Could the user's email program be stripping it out?

I had the same issue and checking the setting for this fixed it! thank you Dr Byte! :clap:
