Custom text and image on the home page -

I know how to change the text on the home page in the index.php file - I changed mine to "Aurum" is the ancient Roman word for gold and it is a trademark of The Gold Market... blah, blah, blah.

But - I can't figure out how to style this text, make p and br tags work, and add an image in that space.

The site is password protected, so we can't even see it.

Oops! Sorry - forgot all about that! Anyway - I figured it out - thanks. I needed to change the text in Tools -> Define pages -> Define main page
Thanks - I will post again when I take the password protection off the site.
