Free Shipping Options ( can you add $ to heavy items?)

I want to have free shipping over X dollars but charge a surcharge for items that are particularly heavy .

there any way to do this ?

You could customize the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping to check the weight but you have to decide if you want a simple total weight check or a more complex product weight check to add the extra charge ...

Or, you can customize the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and customize this one for the extra charge ...
