Andrew,
I'd like to release a small update to your module with your permission. I'll be adding the capability to include Magic SEO URLs, a function that many Zenners have been requesting in other modules. Of all the modules, I believe this would be the most important one to include them in. There was a bug fix you posted for those uninstalling the module, did you want to include that in the next update? If so, please PM me any updated files before I release the update.
Totally Zenned
I'll just send you the updates by email when I'm finished.
A couple of pages back a user stated that she is having the following issue:
"xml declaration not at start of external entity"
Andrew, this means that a blank line is being printed before the xml declaration.
I've done a fresh install on another website and have run into this error. I'm not sure what could cause this...

Nice shop, i like it, but why you don´t publish the google button versus rss button? This may confuse visitors, don´t you?

Thanks.
But I do not use modules that violate the internal structure zen-cart. I use only standard classes and functions. zen-cart created a truly magical tool to increase the capacity of the store, without modifying the kernel code. All changes to the scripts must be transparent for all zen-cart component.
I can advise to issue your own parallel version of rss feeder with support for seo magic, image handler and the like.

Yes. A lot of updates, but I have no time :( May be next week...

Good point. I won't release it publicly then and anyone who needs it can contact me by PM. This is to be able to output Magic SEO URLs (a commercial script). If you have this module installed, this would be an important tool for PageRank as all of your submitted feeds would contain the URLs (SEO) that you are trying to promote rather than the PHP URLs that you are no longer using.
Any idea why there are blank spaces at the beginning of the file causing this parsing error:
xml declaration not at start of external entity
Please visit http://www.tiledepot.us/ and click on the RSS icon for an example. When you view source you'll see the spacing that is not found in my website: http://www.numinix.com. It is obviously something external to the RSS contribution, but I would still like to know which files I should be checking in that case...?

Really? You can prove it?
What happens with your SEO URLs when you in the name of the product, correct typo? Or just a little bit to change the name of the product in accordance with the recommendations seo?

I can't reproduce this error :( Check rss_feed.php class.

Ok let's pretend you just installed SEO URLs. Now whenever you submit your deep links to directories or other sites link to your pages, they are going to use the SEO URLs that are displayed when they browse your site.
When you create an RSS feed and submit it to many feed and blog sites, you've created a large number of links back into your site. It would be optimal to use the same URLs as the ones that are already being promoted rather than a different PHP URL. It goes back to the argument that numinix.com is different than https://www.numinix.com. Both of these addresses will have a different PageRank. So it is best to stick to one format in all of your links, just the same as with PHP URLs vs SEO URLs.
I am not endorsing SEO URLs at all. I'm merely saying that if youve decided to go this road, you need to stick with it in all of your links.

Since the add-on is based on a commercial script, I've added it as a commercial product on my website. All of my other contributions will still remain free.

Hello there.
Question regarding the problem with duplicate content from two URLs: regular URL and and rss feed generated URL: See the URLs below:
rss feed URL
vs
regular URL
Will Google penalize (or drop) one of the URLs as shown above from their database due to both URLs are indeed with the same content.
And how this module affects the organic search results from the major search engines?
Somebody out there probably did some research regarding this. Please share...

I have a weird problem.
24h after installed this contrib. on my test site and my website I have this msg:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit 10' at line 7
in:
[select p.products_id, pd.products_name, products_date_available as date_expected from zen_products p, zen_products_description pd where p.products_id = pd.products_id and p.products_status = 1 and pd.language_id = '1' and p.products_date_available >=20071109 order by EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_FIELD EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit 10]
like brimsjewelry and misty before but with the latest version (I tried 2.0.7 and 2.0.5).
Of course I cannot perform a full restore of the database (Powweb...) even if you have a full backup but if I know which part of the dadatabase to restore I might be able to fix it ...
I didn´t see any issue with MySQL 5.0.45 and this contrib.
The only info I have is taht just after the installation I have another error:
'SQLPATCH', 'Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists', '2007-11-08 11:31:41', 'INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES'
The RSS is generated and available even after this msg.
If somebody have any idea, well it would be just great.

Hi
I have this RSS feed installed on my site and I have a issue that I am not sure if this is the right place to ask.
My RSS feed got my site down for few minute, few times already today, **“This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota **“ after calling the hosting the told me I need to fix or remove the RSS feed because it take too much of time allowed
In abut 30 minute I got few lines like this
Fri Nov 9 09:14:24 2007: used 12.53 seconds of cpu time for HTTP Request: https://www.mysite.us : GET /index.php?main_page=rss_feed&feed=new_products HTTP/1.1
I will appreciate any advice
Dr Byte if you see it , please advice
Thank you

Better to disallow the indexing of the feed url, it´s a lot of literature out there speaking about this

I think it explains in the readme.txt how to set it up to use Ultimate SEO URLs. Your URLs on your website should be the same as in your feeds. For those using Magic SEO URLs, I've released an add-on on my website that also works for all my feeds as well as Andrew's RSS. I'll be updating it to work with many more modules as well.

My RSS feed got my site down for few minute, few times already today, “This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota “ after calling the hosting the told me I need to fix or remove the RSS feed because it take too much of time allowedIt looks like you increased the "Default Products Limit" value too much and your thumbnails are about 10x the filesize they should be. It would not suprise me if this combination "kills" the server. Not sure how many products you are showing, but 400 products x 25kb per average image x nr of viewing visitors (for example) is a lot of data to feed.
