Trouble with linkpoint

Hello,

I have no clue what is going on because I am not a site builder and have very limited knowledge on figuring out problems with websites but the person who set up my ecommerce website told me to come here and ask for help.

He uploaded the PEM file and I went through the checkout process and on the third page after I click checkout I get a message saying the page cannot be displayed or it just goes blank.

Can someone please set up linkpoint for me asap because I have customers visiting my page as well as trying to buy products but They cannot checkout due to this problem. I would appreciate it so much.

Thanks

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

THanks for the quick post doc. Everything in step one has been done but as far as step two goes where is the public_HTML folder so I can upload the file?

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

Yes, it works fine for ports 80 and 443, but not on port 1129 which is required for Linkpoint.
http://www.crazydealspot.com/curltest.php?linkpoint=1

Tell your hosting company you need them to open port 1129 on their firewall so that you can talk to "https://secure.secure.linkpt.net:1129" in order to process credit cards.

If they won't, then you'll have to switch hosting companies to someone who "will" open that port.

Ok, I do not know who the host is but I will contact the person who I bought the store from and let him know what you said.
Thanks

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

there is no way around the port 1129 issue,
your host needs to open it or you will not be able to use linkpoint

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

In the meantime, you could collect the credit cards manually using the offline CC module, and run them through the Linkpoint terminal manually:
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=67

https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=285

Then once you've got the port opened, you could re-enable the Linkpoint option and turn off the basic offline-credit-card option so that it does real live transactions automatically.

Merlin's right -- it looks like they've closed it again:

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

Ok Dr. Byte, they obviously don't know what they are doing. They told me to ask you this:
Please specify the source and destination IP of the connection that should be allowed. Should it connect to our server or from our server to another IP?

Re: Trouble with linkpoint

It's got to connect from your webserver to https://secure.linkpt.net on port 1129 for outbound communication.
