How to change color of the left panel

I need to change the background color for the left panel. However after changing the style, the color changes only for the background of the sideboxes. What I need is to change the color of the background color of the left panel till the page footer.

Please help.

Thanks

Stylesheet of your CURRENT Template

#navColumnOne {
 background-color: #F5F5D6;
       }

Alter colour to suit
