Shipping Rate based on price per country

Anyone ever managed to have different shipping rates based on the total order value, but different per country.

Our shipping cost vary quite a lot, so when we specify a charge based on the price it will vary per country.

So...
If some orders for 100 Euros in UK, we will charge them 10 Euros, when normally we would charge 15 Euors.

If some orders for 100 Euros in Germany, we will charge them 15 Euros, when normally we would charge 20 Euros.

You really need to give a very long winded explination on how you ship and why 'cause ... I know ... I don't get it ... :blink:

Basically we suffer from very high shipping rates, which vary per country.

Free shipping is setup for all orders over a certain value.
This is fine for local shipping, as this does not cost so much.

But for export orders the shipping costs are much higher.
So the order total must be higher before free shipping applies.
Otherwise we lose to much on the order.

Example 1

Local shipping = Holland

So...
Local Order gets free shipping when order total is greater then 80 euros
Order to France gets free shipping when order total is greater than 120 euros.
Order to USA gets free shipping when order total is greater than 190 euros.

Ideally we would like to decrease the shipping rate in steps.

Example 2
Order to france, upto 80 euros, pays full shipping.
Order to france, 80-120 euros, pays 50% of shipping
Order to france, above 120 euros, gets free shipping.

I suspect this would be too difficult so example 1 is probably more practical.

You refer to Free Shipping levels based on order total and destination and Full Shipping ...

What or how are you determining Full Shipping rates?

We currently use Zone rates, 7 in total.
We set the rates per weight, with 1 large weight per zone, which gives us our different ship rates per country. See below.

Zone 1 Countries
NL

Zone 1 Shipping Table
9999:3.60

Zone 1 Handling Fee

Zone 2 Countries
BE,LU

Zone 2 Shipping Table
9999:11.45

Zone 2 Handling Fee

You can do it with the zones, you just need to add more of them ...

To do that, remove the Zone Rate zones - after saving the settings you have ... and edit the file:
/includes/modules/shipping/zones.php

and read the information for adding as many additional zones as you need ...

Or ... there is an add-on for zones that is rather slick where you can really define your zones and it learns from the definitions of these zones and allows you to set the shipping rates ...
