Disabling Pull Down Menu for manufacturer

How do i disable the pull down menu for manufacturer display and represent them as normal text like how the categories are displayed if that is not possible how to i increase the heigh of the pull down menu so that it displays more value than it is now

Take a look at Manufacturers List - Scroll Box Size/Style in: Admin > Configuration > Maximum Values
