paypal credit card page show wrong country

After directing to the paypal credit card payment page, the country show USA instead of Singapore. I have choose the defauly currency and country in the zen-cart as SG or Singpaore and the log also shows:

You'll need to log a ticket with PayPal's technical support department:

The correct category is: Website Payments Standard, and PayPal Live Site.

SG is the correct country code according to ISO standards and according to PayPal's documentation. Thus, it must be a bug on their end.

Tell them to refer to two other existing tickets as well: 070827-000325, 070831-000179

I recommend using "lc" variable. It allows to set the default country for the checkout process. For example:

How to use lc variable??

Well -- they've changed their specifications again. They used to only offer 7 choices. Now apparently they offer lots more ... well, they will once they get the bug fixed.

PayPal support reply after I reported to them the country error still exist even I modify the lc.

As far as "locale" settings are concerned, according to PayPal, allowed values are officially still only the following:
'US', 'AU', 'DE', 'FR', 'IT', 'GB', 'ES', 'AT', 'BE', 'CA', 'CH', 'CN', 'NL', 'PL'

However, that may or may not be the problem which the original poster was really facing.

After reading this thread I have try to change the modules/payment/paypal.php file:
'charset' => utf-8
$lang_code = $order->customer['country']['iso_code_2']; (added)
which is the DrByte suggestion as Japan 'JP' is not in the list of allowed values for 'lc'.

Without any success. The Japanese characters of customer name and address (code utf-8) don't display normally on the Paypal credit card page and the language is still English...
I don't know what to try next. Do you have any suggestion?
(I use last version of Zen Cart)

In your PayPal account, under Profile, under Language options, have you set it up to tell PayPal to use UTF-8 ?

Yes my Paypal account is also set to UTF-8.
There is an option on the top right of the Paypal credit card page where Japanese can be choosen. Paypal seems to use cookies and not the browser language. If there is no cookie English is display. Coming on the second time the Japanese version is displayed but I have still an issue with the characters on the Japanese name and address of the customer on both versions :(
