yet another PERWEIGHTUNIT to calculate Shipping cost per Item question

I have done what the tutorial said(i think)

The per-weight shipping module can be used for this.

  1. Turn on the Per-Unit (perweightunit) shipping module in Admin->Modules->Shipping

  2. Now manually edit each product and enter the shipping cost as the product "weight".
    This module uses the product-weight as the shipping rate for this product ... ie: it is no longer the weight -- it is only the shipping cost.

  3. Turn off weight display everywhere, since it is no longer meaningful.
    a) Admin->Catalog->Product Types->[select your product type]->Edit Layout->Show weight->false
    b) Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging->Display Number of Boxes and Weight Status
    c) Admin->Configuration->index listing / all listing / new listing / featured listing ... turn off the weight on these

Only thing I'm not sure of is in the index listing....I didn't see where I could turn off weight.When I review the shopping cart it still shows 5lbs. not $5.00 for shipping.It also shows "best way to ship" as being $0.00...any help please for this newbie??

Please don't bump your post. It is Sunday and sometimes the person that can help isn't available.

What is the URL where this can be seen?

Thanks Kim...I turned it off but it still is not showing the $5.00 for shipping when you click the shipping estimate button for this product. :frusty:

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

What is the weight of one of your products that we can test and its products_id?

Re: yet another PERWEIGHTUNIT to calculate Shipping cost per Item question

I am afraid v1.3.0.1 was such a buggy little thing that there are too many issues in it to fix this one easily without actually going in and trying to write around all of the bugs ... :eek:

It is really time to get upgraded to Zen Cart v1.3.7.1 ...
