Append product id to product description

Hi there. Simple question, may or may not have simple solution :)

I've realised this morning that searching for a valid product ID doesn't display that product in the search results. What I'd like to have is a way of either a) changing the search mechanism so it includes the product ID when it searches, or b) an easy way of appending the product ID to the end of the description.

I'm on OS X, and have a text dump of the database, so perl etc can be used.
